Elephants!
Last night we had elephants come into our village! It was crazy. In the middle of the night, they came from a nearby forest and be-bopped right into the center of Ihanja. They even crossed the road through our ville. Nobody actually saw them, we all just saw the aftermath. They came and pretty much wreaked havoc on a bunch of shambas. It looked like someone had driven a hundred Hummers through the fields of sugar cane. All the stalks in the way were completely leveled. I went to see the damage the next day and also got to check out the footprints. Absolutely enormous (see pic). Nyika, my puppy, came along with me, went up to a footprint and plopped right down inside of it and fell asleep.
